I originate from the midst of marshes and pine forests in northeastern Finland. Much of my life has been dedicated to music, and alongside my role in wilderness guiding, I also serve as an organist and cantor. I have always enjoyed being in nature and moving around. Eventually, I decided to study as a wilderness and nature guide and did that during the season 2022-23. The beauty of Finnish nature lies in its silence, often harsh but yet beautiful conditions, the diversity of seasonal manifestations, and the power and richness of light, with its ever-changing colors. I am an active individual, and my favorite forms of exercise include skiing, tai chi, walking in nature and especially long hikes.   This is my first season as a tour leader with Upitrek, in addition to the training period I completed last year. Working as a tour leader combines elements that are dear to me. These elements include, obviously, nature, but also people and all different kinds of activities that we’ll be enjoying.
